The Fattoria Ambra estate is located in the heart of the Carmignano DOCG, one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany where grapes have been grown since time immemorial. This DOCG is the oldest in the world and, at the same time, the smallest plot of terroir in Italy. It was the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III de’ Medici in 1716 who issued a ban laying down the rules for the production of “Carmignano”. The Romei Rigoli Family has been the owner of this estate since the middle of the last century, where they have positioned their 20 hectares of vineyards among the finest crus of the terroir. Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon (known here as “Francesca grapes”) are the vines with which Ambra produces its wonderful wines.
