The Cantina Cerretano winery was founded in the early 1900s in the village of Orsogna in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, a few kilometres from the wonderful Majella Natural Park. The founder Domenico “facciabella” (beautiful face) Cerretano began to trade wines throughout Abruzzo with a passion that has been passed down from generation to generation and that has transformed the estate over the years into a modern wine business producing both local autochthonous and international wines. Based on their close, respectful relationship with the natural environment, they decided in 2014 to convert to being an organic estate both in terms of grape production and wine certification. Then came a further big step in the years following: it was to produce wines that are excellent in all senses, to produce ethical, cruelty-free, plant-based products for the sake of the terroir and the winery by becoming compliant with the VEGAN-OK product standard: tradition and authenticity, respect for life and nature, and taste—all in a glass of wine.
